Coca-Cola's Happiness Machine

Have you ever seen the Coca-Cola happiness machine? If you haven't, watch this. For those of you who've seen it before let me remind you that it's a coke machine on a college campus distributing a lot of coke bottles so you can share them with people around, flowers or pizza. When I watched the ad I couldn't help but smile along with the students who were getting more than they expected when they just purchased one coke.

Coke's mission is "to refresh the world in mind, body and spirit. To inspire moments of optimism and happiness through our brands and actions." Coke creates an experience when anyone and everyone purchases a coke. Coke has branded itself to make people happy and create experiences that make people happy. What soda to you get when you throw a party? What drink do you ask for at a restaurant with your whole family? What mixer do you buy when you hang out with a group of friends after work on Friday? You buy a Coke. All those events create a sense of joy in your heart and all those events include a nice cold Coca-Cola. Even pictures on Google are people smiling and enjoying each others company. Having a Coke is an event that is shared with other people.

Coke is shared, enjoyed and interacted with. Using core values like these to market any product will create a sense of inclusion in this wide world.

What brings customers coming back again and again? According to Accenture's "Personalization Pulse Check" report, 56% of people prefer shopping at retailers that recognize them by name. With the holidays coming up quickly, there is no time to lose customers to a poor experience.
