Should your company advertise on Youtube?

Almost 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every single day! We've all been on Youtube looking for a music video and 30 minutes later we are watching cats accidentally falling in a bathtub. Youtube is very engaging and that's why many businesses decide to advertise on this platform.

There are several types of video advertisements: TrueView in-display video ads, In-stream video ads, overlay in-video ads and remarketing video ads.

  • The TrueView in-display ads are promoted next to the video you are currently watching and the company is only charged if the thumbnail of the ad is clicked on.
  • There are two types of in-stream video ads, TrueView ads and non-skippable in-stream ads. Non-skippable in-streams ads can be skipped within the first 5 seconds and TrueView ads which make the user watch the entire video.
  • Overlay videos are all text ads that appear within a video.
  • Remarketing video ads target a previous audience using google analytics.
Youtube uses Google analytics to help advertisers connect with consumers in their target market by letting the company define their target market and showing ads to those people. Youtube easily measures success by analyzing different metrics like click rate.

It's time for you to decide if marketing on Youtube is right for you!

Coca-Cola's Happiness Machine

Have you ever seen the Coca-Cola happiness machine? If you haven't, watch this . For those of you who've seen it before let me remind you that it's a coke machine on a college campus distributing a lot of coke bottles so you can share them with people around, flowers or pizza. When I watched the ad I couldn't help but smile along with the students who were getting more than they expected when they just purchased one coke. Coke's mission is "to refresh the world in mind, body and spirit. To inspire moments of optimism and happiness through our brands and actions." Coke creates an experience when anyone and everyone purchases a coke. Coke has branded itself to make people happy and create experiences that make people happy. What soda to you get when you throw a party? What drink do you ask for at a restaurant with your whole family? What mixer do you buy when you hang out with a group of friends after work on Friday? You buy a Coke. All those events create...

When I entered into the 6 th grade I wanted to show everyone the woman that I was becoming by owning products that show who I am. I wanted a purse so that people knew I was important enough to have stuff to hold. Even though I really had nothing to fill it with back then. I remember telling my mom that I wanted a Kate Spade New York because I thought it was the essence of chic, classy and being a woman.   Kate Spade has stood the test of time and has stood out among other affordable luxury brands.   Kate Spade sells everything from home décor to accessories. Come Back After the Holidays... Ya Hear

What brings customers coming back again and again? According to Accenture's "Personalization Pulse Check" report, 56% of people prefer shopping at retailers that recognize them by name. With the holidays coming up quickly, there is no time to lose customers to a poor experience. Instead of of pre-assessing each customer by their persona, it's time to get to know each customer personally to create a relationship between customer and retailer. A good retailer should create moments that incentive purchasing action not only during the initial interaction but also motivate the consumer to come back and purchase again. A good retailer should be all knowing. Retailers should be aware what products they have in store and online, what products are out of stock and when those products will be restocked. Retailers should also be aware of what the consumers wants but where does this purchasing journey begin? One way it may start is on social media. What if a consumer tweeted ab...
